Happiness on Education

The happiness of a person can is based on your emotions. They are the roots to everything you do in this life, even the things you do in school. Students either experience boredom or anxiety in school. They neither enjoy it nor perform at their best. Students think school is not a fun place to go to. “We” don’t understand when it’s time for play and when it’s time to work for your future. The teachers have to be able to engage students with they’re teachings and involve some activities for students to be interested in continuing coming to classes. Bringing happiness in a student’s education can be, what they enjoy doing and maybe they would learn more of it and engage in that activity. Many people struggle with finding happiness in education but they need to learn about themselves. They need to learn what they are interested in and once they do, they’ll find that they are happier in what they’re learning. If a student is interested in what he or she is doing, they will strive at it. “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” Ken Robinson mentioned a girl who loved to dance but teachers had thought she had a learning disorder. The girl was put in a theatre arts school it was filled with people like her. She loved being around people who were “just like her”.
Society has labeled education as being math, science and literature. This however, isn’t necessarily true. Students should find an activity or subject they love the most and do their best at it. Robinson made a point that students should find what they love, what they’re passionate about and do well at it because it decreases some of the intensity school brings.  As it turns out to be happy in this earth we need to work hard. The work should be work you enjoy doing to have positive emotions. Our visions of happiness are things we not obligated to do such as school and work.  We try to find our happiness outside of our “to dos” which can give us the feeling of being free.
“12 year old children already [made] a clear distinction between work and play, a distinction that stays with most of us for the rest of our lives. It is very clear to children that their education is about schoolwork, homework, and hard work” (Sharhar 91). Mostly when you are challenged or under challenged in a subject you would start to dislike school even more. You can enjoy a particular subject it’s a way to get away from the other subjects that you’re stressing over and manly focus on the one that makes you happy. Also, by putting in the effort to try new things you will have the feeling of accomplishment when you done which can leave you happier then when you first started. I look at education as a privilege, something that I have to do. Have to work hard at it to be successful. I am doing my best but I have to say I am unhappy to be a student for the quarter of my life I’m in school.  I do not take my education seriously, which I know I have to. I was actually forced to register for classes this semester because of my mother. I did not want to go straight to school from high school. I’m so stressed out with schoolwork and work now. I’m a full time student and a full time worker. I have no time to do any reading or assignments for my classes and if I do they all late. I can’t concentrate in class because half the time I’m too sleepy to even do so. I do realize my bad habits but I honestly don’t think that I can change that anytime soon. Only because I’m a full time worker and student that don’t even have time to take nine hours sleep like a normal person. I enjoy learning yes, but I just can’t do all the work that comes after the learning.
The goal is “present gain, [and] future gain” in my education (Sharhar 87). To do things that I enjoy maybe I am able to stop myself from over thinking about work and all the work that is due for school. Whenever I feel this way I start listening to music. I feel that is my answer to stay focused on my schoolwork and assignments, the way the beat to a song can relax me when I’m overwhelmed about life. Education tends to prepare every body too get ready for the future. Therefore, most of the people think school is the only way that can promise us a good future since schools offer us a degree for our jobs. Education is one of our emotions that are “happy” but education isn’t laughter or a surprise it’s a goal that you decide to do for yourself.  Education is a piece of your bridge you building to reach “happiness”.
